Digital Storage
Microelectronic Solutions is the official partner and distributor of UNISTORAGE by Unimatica.
UNISTORAGE is the main software application for digital company projects both for public authorities and private companies.
UNISTORAGE can integrate with the most widely available workflow and document management systems.
The management of an organized and easily accessible filing system is as important for electronic documents as for paper documents. An electronic filing system is the “place” where all documents issued in one or more occasions are kept. UNISTORAGE is a filing system developed to manage all types of electronic documents with digital signatures. Legislation considers such a document to be of equal value to a paper document with a handwritten signature, enabling paper documentation procedures to be replaced by electronic documentation systems, thereby offering significant benefits to public bodies and businesses:
- Decrease in occupied space
- Reduction in operating costs
Electronic document filing and storage system (using digital signatures)
UNISTORAGE complies with the following requirements:
- Completeness: every document issued is present
- Reliability: guarantee of consistency of information
- Security: protection from non-authorized data manipulation
- Safety: independent of hardware failure
- Transparency: user-friendly consultation using different search methods
The procedure utilized for the long-term storage of documents with digital signatures complies with technical regulations for reproducing and storing legally valid documents. It satisfies all the phases in the process of filing and storing documents electronically. Within this process, electronic documents, folders and files are stored together with a time stamp associated to each set of documents as well as the digital signature of the person responsible of storing the documents, certifying that the process was carried out correctly. To access the procedure, users must login in with a smartcard to guarantee the highest level of file safety and security.
The main functions of UNISTORAGE are the following:
- Home page containing general information (login, main menu, file used space, warnings...)
- Document Management
- Backup Management
The management of an organized and easily accessible filing system is as important for electronic documents as for paper documents. An electronic filing system is the “place” where all documents issued in one or more occasions are kept.
A digital signature fulfils several functions necessary for a document to be used
officially:
- It provides the guarantee that a document has not be altered in any way after being issued (protection)
- It allows the person who authenticated the document to be identified beyond any doubt (authentication)
UNISTORAGE was designed to integrate with all products based upon modular, distributed architecture. The basic concept of this structure is an electronic document, that is, a binary file composed of data stored in an XML format and one or more digital signatures.
The solution is independent of the type of document stored, and can therefore be integrated with other systems generating e-documents.

- Home page containing general information (login, main menu, file used space, warnings...)
- Document Management
- input search method (using a wizard) to obtain lists
- select documents from the current list, placing them in a trolley
- generate a signed registration (a large XML file) containing the documents in the trolley
- view a document in the current list, any linked documents and the registration (or session) in which is was stored
- Backup Management
- display filing system backups (written independently of the program)
- search within saved backups
- view the properties of a backup (where it is held, which registrations it holds...)
Throughout its “life”, a document will leave a trace of itself within the filing system, even after its data has been removed from the file, for example through space restrictions, and stored on external devices. A UNISTORAGE file is therefore a complete index of the documents, the procedure whereby they were filed and stored and whether the information pertaining to the document is contained or not in the file.
The system will always be capable of supplying information about the location of the physical devices where the documents may be held and whether there are any linked documents. In order to complete the procedure correctly and in compliance with legislation, the archiving program can also generate a series of physical copies of the files document.
