  Australia acknowledges digital signatures both on a federal and state level, even if there is no direct law to actually accept e-signatures. Infact the law says the document is ‘not invalidated’ just because it is authenticated electronically and this means digital signatures, especially when combined with handwritten signatures capturing biometric information, can be recognised as evidence. If the document is changed or altered after beeing signed,  the signature is invalidated.
